Matt Malley, Bass

Matt Malley is best known for being a founding member of Counting Crows. Matt plays bass on 7 Counting Crows records dating back to their first and most successful, "August and Everything After" and he is also appearing on the new Counting Crows record, due to be released in November, '07. With over 20,000,000 records sold to date, Matt has also acquired Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe nominations for co-writing the title song for Shrek 2, "Accidentally in Love".

Matt is also a big fan of Indian Classical music, and he studies the Indian Slide Guitar, or "Mohan Veena" and is a student and friend of Grammy winner Vishwa Mohan Bhatt.
Matt left Counting Crows in Dec. '04 so he could get off the road and not miss his two boys growing up. He is enjoying writing and recording his own songs in his home studio. Matts' home, by the way, was previously owned by legendary record producer Bruce Swedien and Matt is now recording in what used to be Bruces' home studio.
